The International Driver's Permit is an official travel document
issued to tourists travelling to foreign countries by the United Nations. It is
an official translation of your driver license issued in your country of
origin. In fact, the document says you have a valid driver's license and it
converts your identity records into a variety of languages so that officials
overseas can check and understand your driving qualifications.
