What is the need for an international Driving License in the USA?

 If you are going to the USA and need to drive there, you need an international driving license in usa or International Driving Permit issued by the appropriate authority and a valid license from your own country. Your international driving license lets you drive through every state of USA, though rules and regulations for its validity is different from state to state, some states consider its validation for a year and remaining states for 6 months only. 1. Go to the ITCA website.
2. Submit your application along with the fee, a copy of your national driver’s license, applicant’s passport, visa, tickets, Form CMV 1 & 1A, form CMV 4, and a recent photo.
3. After submitting if your application is eligible under International criteria for IDL, you will receive an email of your approval and shipping information.

 Guide for applying offline-

 

1. Go to the Regional Traffic Office (RTO), buy an International Driving License form.
2. You will need documents like Indian Driving License, two address proof, Visa, four passport size photographs, passport, medical certificate, application to RTO stating why you need the IDL. Take Xerox of all these documents and self to attest them, keep original documents with you as well.
3. Submit above mention documents and pay the fee.
4. After processing you will get your International Driving License within the same day or in some cases the next day.
