How to Get an International Driving License in India?

 There are mainly 3 ways to get IDL / IDP in India.

The Regional Transport Office is one of the best ways to apply for a new international driving license / permit.

RTO is an organization authorized by the Government of India. It helps you in following procedures.

•  Issuing driving license
• Track vehicle records
• Collect vehicle tax

The person concerned has to purchase the "Renewal of Driving License File" from the R & LA sales counter or download the file.

 Be sure to check the checklist for the required documents below:

•  Documents required to apply for an International Driving License
• driving license. Make sure it is available in the RTO database (just to avoid any confusion).
• ID proof. Passport and / or Aadhaar Card.
• An address proof.
• Your valid passport

You can apply only if you have a valid visa authorized by the foreign embassy (this is mandatory.)

• Three to four passport size photos.
• Valid air or railway ticket.
• He should be 18 years of age.
• Official form issued by the concerned authority.
• Form-4 (Check with file)
• Application fee.
• Proof of Indian citizenship.
• Medical certificate.
• An age proof.

Once you have collected all the above documents, you need to visit the Regional Transport Authority and submit the full file and fee (Rs. One thousand only) and submit the receipt.

You can apply online for IDL / IDP by visiting the official website of ITCA. If you are not able to get your application form online, then simply, you can ask the ITCA agent in India to direct the same. you require:

•  Scanned copy of your passport.
• Scanned copy of national driving license.
• Passport Size Photograph (s).

The processing fee varies depending on the validity period (not more than 3 years) requested by the applicant.

1 year - 30 euros, 2 years - 36 euros and 3 years - 43 euros respectively.

 Steps to apply online

 Go to the ITCA official website.

Click on the Apply Now button.

Fill all the details on the form: processing, urgency, validity period, class, national driving license number, and its expiration date. Make sure you crosscheck.

Documents required for international license:

•  Valid driving license of your country.
• Verified copy of permanent address proof.
• Attested copy of ID proof with valid passport.
• 3 or 4 passport size photographs of the applicant.
• Verified copy of air ticket and valid visa. There are no discrepancies in previous data.
• Requesting to authenticate IDL / IDP by giving self attested letter to zonal RTO.

Forms (CMV-4, CMV-1, and CMV-1A) must be downloaded online, properly filled in and submitted to the zonal RTO. You need to do a little research before attempting to enter data.
